JCC SUMMER CAMPS

A summer of fun is around the corner! For almost 70 years the New Orleans JCC has provided a superior quality camp experience for children ages 21 months to grade 8. Campers develop meaningful friendships while having a blast swimming in our outdoor pools and enjoying art, music, drama, cooking, science and sports. Swim instruction is provided by American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors. Field trips, overnights, special events and dress up days add to the fun. Weekly offerings for those entering grades 6 – 8 include Tennis, Culinary Creations, Adventure Trips, Stage Combat, Photography, Broadcast Journalism, Fitness and more! All are welcome at the JCC. JCC Counselor-In-Training Program

For teens entering grades 9-10 All applicants must be 14 years old by June 1, 2018

Our Counselor-in-Training program encourages young teens to work with a variety of age groups and specialists with a strong focus on developing leadership capabilities, communication skills, patience and program planning. Spenidng the summer working as a CIT is an opportunity for young teens to gain independence and first -time job experience. CIT's are a valuable part of our summer staff team and their enthusiasm helps make camp a memorable experience. 

CIT's must commit to a minimum of four consecutive weeks with tthe JCC. A personal interview and attendance at staff training are required. Counselors-in-Training will receive a stipend or volunteer hours for their hard work and dedication upon the successful completion of the program. This is a member only opportunity.
