JCC Camp Shai

JCC Camp Shai is designed to create opportunities that are developmentally appropriate and offer increasing independence to campers. Our commitment to Jewish culture and values are evident in all that we do! Campers are either part of our Traditional Camp where they spend the day with their cabin rotating through a variety of activities or campers are part of our Specialty Camps. In Specialty Camps, campers spend half of their day in specialized instruction centered around Art, STEM, or other amazing subjects. No matter which program campers are in, JCC Camp Shai is an inclusive place where campers grow, learn, and make new friends!

The CIT Program is geared toward rising 9th and 10th Graders

The Camp Shai CIT & Leadership Development program is designed for rising 9th
graders who have an interest in developing the skills it takes to be a great camp
counselor! The CIT Program is a two-week program:

Week I – CITs will participate in a hands-on training about working with children, facilitating games and
activities, and program planning with an option to gain a certification in CPR and First Aid.

Week II – CITs will practice what they’ve learned with a cabin of campers by facilitating activities and
overseeing camper care. The week will end with a big group celebration, Camp Shai-style!
