JCA Summer Camp

Learn, Lead and Grow

J-Teens is designed for tenth to twelfth grade students to help develop leadership skills and knowledge related to children and camping while participating in unique camp experiences designed just for their age group.

This dynamic program is offered in two stages:

Stage One

Beginning in April 2018, six 2-hour training sessions are held with topics on team-building, child development, communication, health and safety, and self-reflection. These sessions are taught by JCA professional staff members and provide insight into the mission and inner workings of the JCA.

Stage Two

This stage is during camp. Teens are placed in a specific camp group to learn and participate in the camp environment, assist where appropriate and interact with campers, utilizing skills acquired in stage one. Time is spent each week with other J-Teens in leadership development and social activities.
