Hashomer Hatzair Yedid Israel Trip

Yedid is Hashomer Hatzair North America's month-long trip in Israel. We strive to balance the fun of touring and hiking, with the substance of Zionism, identity formation, and education. The program is designed to form a strong bond to Israel and the Jewish peoplehood vis-a-vis our unique 'shomeric' educational approach.

The first part is a 3 week leadership intensive in Camp Shomria (locations available in US & CA), in which they grow as a group, learn about hadracha in a hands-on approach, go hiking, and more.

The second part is an international trip split into:

  • Seminar Hadracha: Spend a week in Italy meeting movement members from 20 different countries, learning and having fun together!
  • Yedid: 25 days in Israel traveling with the North American group. Meet people from different sectors of Israeli society, learn about the Conflict and Occupation, connect with their Jewish roots, and engage with the group as a kvutza.

This program is in collaboration with RootOne. We offer thoughtful and meaningful Israel education program leading up to the summer in order to make it the educationally holistic, and to give participants a chance to get to know each other first! RootOne is seeded through a generous grant by the Marcus Foundation and powered by the Jewish Education Project. Visit www.rootone.org for more info
