Camp Friedberg combines the very best practices in summer camping that the JCC has developed over the last fifty years, with new trends and a greater degree of flexibility. With more than ten different camp divisions, our programs for children ages 2-16 meet the needs of every family. We offer round trip transportation, flexible scheduling, extended care options, and diverse programming. Most programs also include a Kosher lunch and daily snacks. We pride ourselves on our dedicated staff, many of whom were campers themselves. Our administrative staff and counselors are chosen for their ability to relate well to children and provide guidance and supervision. Many of our staff are educators and social workers, who have the knowledge and experience to provide your child with a wonderful summer.
For children entering grades K - 4, our Junior Division at Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds offers a true camp experience nestled in the woods of Long Island. Amenities include a 4 Pool Complex, Judaic Programming, Arts and Crafts, Driving Range, GaGa Courts, Specialized Sports Clinics, Science and Nature, Zip line, a Ropes Course, and amazing Day and Overnight Trips! Extreme Specialties allow your child to focus on what they like to do best.
Not yet a teen, no longer a child, our 5th and 6th graders have their own unique transitional camp. Our Explorers Division spends half their time at our breathtaking campgrounds, and the rest of the time enjoy exciting day and overnight trips.
Our Voyagers Travel Program for 7th - 10th graders is a whirlwind of adventures to popular destinations, both day and overnight. Our oldest campers build lifelong friendships while experiencing spectacular trips to exciting and fun-filled destinations that are carefully chosen with teens in mind.
Our Counselor-in-Training Division for teens ages 14 and 15 is a unique program that combines a traditional camp experience with a foundation of job skills and community service.
Our Theatre Division for children ages 5 to 13 is based at our indoor, state-of-the-art JCC in Oceanside. In addition to developing theatre skills, campers enjoy daily indoor swim and a variety of activities. The camp season culminates in a fabulous performance for friends and family.
For children with disabilities, Camp Achieve provides an intimate setting that is designed to foster socialization and skill building. Led by a mature, professional staff, Camp Achieve is offered through the Ezra Center for People with Disabilities.
