Camp Centerland

Beautiful setting in Western NY. Serving families in Amherst, Buffalo, Kenton, Tonawanda and surrounding areas, Camp Centerland is the JCC's premiere summer day camp for children entering Kindergarten through grade 10. Camp Centerland is a WNY summer camp like no other! 

The JCC and the Irving M. Shuman Campgrounds in Getzville, New York are the perfect facility for your child’s summer camp experience. Our 19+ acres include a baseball diamond, 2 soccer fields, basketball/hockey court, gaga pit, archery range, climbing tower with double zipline and high ropes course, acres of hiking and nature trails, large covered shelters with restrooms, access to a biking trail and comfortable covered dining space. Camp’s indoor space includes a full-size gymnasium, auditorium with theater stage and projection screen, an art studio, a full size dance studio, and kid-friendly activity spaces, and an indoor heated swimming pool. The outdoor pool complex includes a heated pool, wading pool, gaga pit, and camp changing facilities.

To enhance the staffing at Camp Centerland, our Counselor in Training program will emphasize the fundamental tools to becoming a counselor. CITs on-going training allows them to learn firsthand from counselors and supervisors through unit and area placements. They will tackle topics such as; goal setting, time management, self-esteem, team work, listening and communication skills during group training sessions.

CITs will enroll for a complete 3-week session. Each session includes leadership training, program planning and implementation, camper group integration, peer learning, and the option for Red Cross certification training. A session of CIT involvement is engaging, challenging, and most importantly, FUN!
